Critically Endangered Species are species that are facing an extremely high risk of extinction in wild in immediate future. For ex -Coscinium fenestratum
Things leading to endangered species :-
- Most important thing is loss of habitat
- Large scale conversation of jungles into comercial and residential places.
- Urban development
- Water logging and other natural calamities
- Diseases
- Global warming and pollution
- Spread of introduced Species
- Farmers not getting desired price for their cultivation
Stats :-
- According to the Red Data list of I.U.C.N. there are 48 citically endangered Species in India.
- The Red list of 2019 captain 132 species of plant as endangered species in India. For ex –
- Aquilaria agallocha
- Aconitum heterophyllum.
- Sida Cordifolia
- Aegle marmelos
